Welcome to Museum The Ursuline Convent - International Museum for Family History
In the museum you will be given a varied insight into the history of man in relation to family life and consanquinity: from the first man until today with special attention for DNA, the Eijsden born scientist Eugene Dubois, Heraldry, Migration, Charlemagne, Culture of Daily Life, Iconography and Genealogy. Our museum is situated in a 19th century Ursuline Convent with beautiful stained-glass windows. It hosts a museum cafeteria, a tourist information centre, a museum shop, a brewery, a small-scale cheese factory and several studios for art and music.
The museumshop is open from Monday to Friday from 11 am to 4 pm.
We are closed on February 20-21.
Museum is closed from Dec. 16 to March 20, however you can always plan a group visit to the museum during this peiod (min. 8 visitors).
You can visit our Santon collection and drink hot chocolate milk on 21, 22, 27 and 28 of December (1-5 pm). Adults: € 3,50; up to 12 years € 2,50.
